"A Day of Pure Bliss and Self-Pampering at the Spa!"

It has been a long time since I spent a day at a spa, but I felt it was much needed. It has been a seriously stressful few months since I embarked on my crazy adventure. What started my want/need to pamper myself was I started to notice I was losing a lot of hair. And yes, I am older now, but not that old... The water here in Abu Dhabi is very hard and full of chemicals and chlorine, making it very unsafe to drink and obviously unsafe for my hair. So I schedule a couple pampering sessions.
First thing first, Nails. If you do your nails regularly you know how it feels to not have them done, almost as if you're unfinished. In America when I get my nails done they put tips on first, then acrylic powder. Here in the UAE they don't use tips. They build the acrylic out and it is so much better for your nails. But, as any of us women know, it takes a long time in a nail salon, now triple that time here. BUT THEY TURNED OUT SO GREAT! And you know that I had to have a pedicure while I was there waiting, forever. So freshly painted toes and fingernails for the win. (Oh and I forgot to mention the massage they do after the polish dried, so needed)
Back to the real reason I was on my self- pampering day today, my hair. So I went to Plush Spa and had a protein and botox infused hair treatment completed. The botox filled my hair follicles and the protein infused treatment repairs and seals all the nutrients in. The treatment has to stay in for an hour to an hour and a half and my hair was bad, so it stayed for 1 1/2 hours. Naturally I needed to find something to do with my time, so why not get a Swedish full body massage. Oh lord was that well worth it. The amount of tension I had in my shoulders was insane. So while my hair was getting healthier, my muscles were too. Getting a massage is not just a luxurious indulgence, it is a therapeutic practice with physical and mental health benefits. The art of massage goes beyond relaxation, as it has been proven to reduce muscle tension, improve circulation, and enhance flexibility. Beyond the physical aspects, massages are renowned for their ability to alleviate stress and anxiety (which I have a lot of), promoting a sense of calm and mental clarity. Regular massage sessions contribute to better sleep quality, boost immune function, and even alleviate chronic pain conditions. My hair and every muscle in my body feels so much better, remember ladies, it is so important to take care of yourselves.
Self-care is a crucial aspect of maintaining overall well-being and balance in our hectic lives. Taking the time to prioritize oneself is not a luxury but a necessity. It involves intentionally carving out moments for rest, relaxation, and activities that bring joy and fulfillment. Remember, self-care is not selfish, it is an essential foundation for a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.
Good night everyone. I hope you have a wonderful work week.
